You meet the right people, get a chance to audition in front of the industry’s top teen casting directors, and if you’re good (and have a great agency), you get to work with the best directors and producers. Casting calls for various roles in film, TV, and theater are frequently posted, providing numerous opportunities for teenage actors.

How To Get Into
Teen Acting
There’s a common misconception that you need to have a certain look
or a ton of acting experience to make it in the world of teen acting.
But this couldn’t be further from the truth.
The thing is that teen casting directors are always on the lookout for teen actors with different looks. It doesn’t matter what colour your hair is, how tall you are, or where you come from. It doesn’t matter if you wear glasses or have braces. There’s always an opportunity out there for teen actors.
There are also numerous opportunities for male actors of different age ranges and ethnic backgrounds, whether for featured roles or background extras.
Of course, a little acting experience will help, but if you don’t have any, then start learning. If you’re eager and listen to the advice of the director and your agency coaches, you can easily overcome a lack of experience. Trust us, we’ve seen it happen before.
What you will need though is the right attitude. Young acting is hard work, and there’s no way you can bluff your way through a role without putting the effort in. It just doesn’t work that way.
You need to practice, practice, and practice some more. You need to attend auditions and give it your all each and every time. And if you land a role, you need to know how to take direction and accept constructive criticism. As we said, it’s hard work.
But as you can guess, the rewards are well worth the effort.

Before you do anything, you need to find
a reputable teen acting agency.
It should have a client list that reads like a who’s who of the country’s leading brands and production companies. It should also provide you with the resources to hone your acting skills and improve your chances at auditions.

That’s the easy part. There are any number of teen acting agencies out there that will be more than happy to take on your teen. However, you’re not looking for any old agency. Yes, of course! Many of the teenagers that have worked with Bubblegum Casting have gone on to sign up with our adult talent agency Hunter Talent. If that’s what your teen decides to do, we’ll be more than happy to help.
There’s no doubt that your teen will need to miss out on some classes, but this will not affect their education.
Your teen’s education is hugely important and so production companies will do everything in their power to ensure that teen actors do not miss out.

The lucky kids that make it onto our books benefit from in-house workshops and coaching sessions to help them brush up on their skills. They’ll also get great advice and tips from the Bubblegum team, some of whom have worked as child models and actors themselves! We’ll even arrange a portfolio shoot with our in-house photographer.
We want all the kids on our books to have their chance to shine and if that means working twice as hard to make it happen, then that’s what we’ll do!
