Is Your Baby a Model?
Is your baby a model?
Do you want to know what it takes to be a baby model?
Your mind may be formulating a long list of impressive qualities. But the truth is, it takes nothing but a good photograph. That is all you need to impress baby modelling agencies, casting directors and photographers in any country or any state. Modelling is all about photographs after all, and due to the limited range of a babies abilities, a solid photo is all it takes to get started. Whether it is a brand shoot, film, commercial or something else, being comfortable in front of the camera is the ultimate requirement. This is why the pictures you send in as a sample to baby modelling agencies plays a very important role. Here a few tips to help you get the perfect photograph of your baby so that nothing stands in their way of becoming a successful baby model.
Props are a definite no!
If there is anything casting agents, directors, and photographers hate, it’s props. Parents usually make their child wear funky hats or cute sunglasses. As much as it makes a fun photo to be framed in your living room, it isn’t what a modelling agency is looking for. What the picture should be is a simple photograph representing your child’s features. Additional props like sunglasses or hats are only going to take away the attention as well as hide the beautiful features of your kid! This is why you should stick to plain and basic pictures. Don’t throw in food items. Don’t dress up your baby in costumes for agency shots. Most importantly, do not paint your child’s face. Simple, casual, everyday clothes are just fine as long as your kid is expressing himself. At the same time, don’t go completely naked. This may sound stupid but many parents have made this mistake. Your child could have the body of a bodybuilder but the agency doesn’t care at this point. When it comes to baby models, agencies want a cute face, not a muscular body. Even if the intent isn’t to show the body, remember that you have to stay professional. What may seem cute in a diaper’s ad isn’t necessarily attractive to a modelling agency.
Be moderate
Yes, this photograph is your only way to impress the agency. But that doesn’t mean you must showcase all your kid’s fancy style. Trust us, you will impress the agency if you actually send in a simple picture. Just a simple shot with a smiling child in casual clothes, no props, and neutral expressions is your key to success. Basically, the key is to be active and smiling, but natural as well. You have to portray your child as a flexible kid who is ready to be in front of the camera without getting intimidated.
